When working on a restoration/preservation project it is so important to document and photograph your progress and work. When working with hardware keep things separated by door (ziplock bags work really well for this). Work from a ‘hardware schedule’ and maintain a detailed list of all your parts and fasteners. When complete assemble your hardware for installation by door and PROTECT this hardware — brass is worth so much on the metals market it could get stolen (this happens several times a year on projects we are involved with)!
