revised traditional door strike – brass
ribbon and reed pull | sculpted
This ribbon and reed pull was sketched and then sculpted by our artist for a special project in Chicago. The detailing was pulled from historic ribbon and reed levers and trim pieces.
polishing casement hardware
Here is a photo of one of our craftsmen performing finishing work on casement window locks. These locks were just finished (restored) for a local home. Bathrooms were done in polished nickel.
traditional door details
Here is a great detail of a rabbit door french door with a narrow stile. Many architects use old books like this for remodel and new construction work. If you ever would like to use some of our resources don’t hesitate to ask (several others available at www.harmonhinge.com).
tectus hinges | polished nickel
These concealed hinges provide a clean look on concealed door openings. The tectus hinge is available in many finishes – including polished nickel as shown here.
brass turn of the century knob
This is an example of a knob and rosette that we are currently installing on a local home. The un-lacquered and hand waxed brass finish is throughout the entire project – with silver and a hand waxed finish in the living room and other formal areas.
pocket door hardware | polished nickel
These beveled pocket door hardware trim plates have all been prepared in a polished nickel plated finish. All the fasteners are slotted and finished to match for a client in St. Louis.
james in our finishing room
In the coming months we are going to show some photos of work in process in our plating and polishing shop (right here in Wilmette). If you ever would like to tour our facilities give us a call. We give tours to the Art Institute classes in Chicago as well as to other trade organizations.
more art deco hardware & kitchen . . .
Here are some additional photos of a Washington kitchen that we manufactured the cabinet hardware for. Enjoy…
art deco cabinet hardware
This kitchen in Washington state was done using our art deco cabinet hardware in polished nickel. The next post will contain some additional photos of the finished kitchen.
david adler | reproduction hardware
These knobs are actually reproductions of knobs that were used on a home in Lake Forest, Illinois. It is extremely evident that David Adler placed a high importance on hardware selection and use. The simple timeless elegance of this knob and rosette is classic Adler. These knobs will be finished in an un-lacquered brass and be allowed to age naturally on the exterior doors.
custom door knobs installed
These custom knobs were installed today on existing (restored) rim locks on a local home. The knobs weigh in at over 6 lbs each. Custom backing plates were made to accommodate the size that are concealed by the mortise lock/rim lock trim.
