towel bars for shower doors
These square bars were made up for some shower doors for a client in Texas. The bars will mount back to back using all concealed fasteners. The final finish will be polished nickel.
salvage cabinet knobs
Often a great piece of historic hardware is used for inspiration when crafting a new piece of hardware. The knob on the left was originally cast and has crisp lines that we will use when creating a new turned cabinet knob to add to our collection.
custom flush pulls
This flush pull is available with both the stepped deco edge detail (shown) and a 45 degree bevel for a more traditional period look. Any of our finishes are available (including matching your finish).
custom turned brass knobs
These knobs are for a local project we are starting to wrap up. The knobs are turned from solid brass and finished right in our shop in Wilmette, Illinois. We make all of our hardware in the USA and the finishes and quality leave nothing to be desired.
brass rim locks
These brass rim locks are being sent to a client for installation on new doors. When ordering rim locks it is critical to get door thickness and handing as each lock is made especially for a specific door. These locks are configured with exterior cylinders that have all been keyed to match the other keys on the clients home.
detail of victorian age lift off hinge
Here is a detailed photo of a hinge we are casting using the lost wax method of casting. This hinge is well over 100 years old and all details that are missing will be re-sculpted before molds are prepared.
simple bin pull for replication
This simple bin pull is being re-manufactured to become a part of our cabinet hardware line. If you are an architect or designer and wish to have a sales representative come out and show some of our samples send us a quick email to info@wilmettehardware.com.
large brass knobs for entry
Wow! These large raw parts are in the process of turning into door knobs. The brass bar used for this was over 200 pounds and the knobs will be over 4″ in diameter. Check back soon for the final photos of the knobs.
glass door pulls re-nickel plated
Check out the results from these entry pulls on a store in Chicago that were re-plated in nickel. The best part is that we do most of our exterior door refinishing work in the same day. So if you are local be sure to call ahead to schedule a time (if you are not UPS-RED or FEDEX is a great option).
raw brass parts | door knob replication
These pieces of brass are the in process photos of several knobs we are making for exterior doors. The knobs are being cut from solid brass bar stock and will be finished and allowed to age on the new doors.
historic hinge replication | cast bronze
These hinges are part of a large restoration project we are currently working on. The base material is solid bronze. When the new hinges are completed they will contain an integrated needle bearing that will be concealed and allow for a smooth non-wearing action.
ice box latch concept
This is a kicked up version of a historic ice box latch. The base plate will extend the entire length of the body of the latch. Bevel details will be incorporated to both the hinge as well as the latch so that both relate as part of a suite of hardware. Silver plated both the latch and hinge will look stunning.
