Here are some of the hinges with over sized traditional ball finials for the screws on the last post.
Ever wonder why the finials on the newer stock hinges are so small? Cost. The cost of doing a traditional ball finial because of the diameter of the bar stock required is about double of making a shorter and smaller diameter finial. Check some of our previous entries to see how finished a true butt hinge looks installed (we will make a hardware snob out of you yet)!
