These silver Adler levers were originally used on many of David Adler’s projects in Chicago and on Chicago’s North Shore. This simple clean elegant design can be appreciated almost more today in the fog of imported chunky lackluster hardware. Plus the finishing is second to none.
rixon hinge rebuild & refinish
Here is a photo of a rixon hinge that was just rebuilt for an installation in Winnetka, Illinois. This 80 year old piece of hardware was built to last and now it is ready for another 80 years of use. Rixon is a manufacturer of quality dual action hinges still today – they made quality hardware for butler pantry doors specified by architects.

Here it is…the long awaited Miami Pull v.2. The plate on this pull gets milled into the door and the back of the walnut has an insert of polished nickel that allows your hand to pull on the nickel and not the wood. This pull contains about 40 parts and is absolutely a fabulous concept/design by nuHaus.
custom wine cellar cabinet doors
This mock up is for a wine cellar door to lock ‘the expensive stuff.” The frames are constructed from brass and the insert is actually steel. All has been assembled and bronze plated in an oil rubbed finish. There will be antique padle locks to lock the cabinet doors as well.

Here are a few more photos of Ampthill Plantation in Virginia. Thomas Jefferson designed the newest portion of this home as his last work. The barn is just fabulous – the plantation used to farm 1500 acres of tobacco.

These brass knobs and rosettes represent how hardware appears before going our finishing room. These knobs were machined out of solid brass. They will be installed on a project we are completing in Georgia.
